The Bible Retrieval System by Chip Chapin

Rescued from bit-rot hell by yours truly, this is a useful command-line tool to have at hand when engaged in a flamewar where a Bible quote or two is required.

With some tearing of hair, I re-tooled it to build via the Gnu Autoconf system…not a past-time that's recommended as a hobby. It's been "extensively tested" on Slackware 10.2 and 12.0, and Solaris 10 (the Solaris cc issues warnings when compiling but that's Ok).

Confusingly, you may find a 4.20 on the web but in fact that is earlier code than the 4.03 version presented here. (Which, naturally, I only noticed after I'd managed to get 4.20 to compile.) I've confirmed with Chip Chapin that BRS 4.03 was the last version released - he now considers it a curio and relic.
